Manager, Maintenance - 223984
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs and/or schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, general maintenance and repair of all company property by maintenance personnel or outside contractors in a timely and cost-effective manner, as outlined by ISO system.
Research, devise, and implement improvements in production and fabrication processes.
Responsible for Maintenance Dept; hiring decisions, scheduling work, performance evaluations, wage reviews and disciplinary actions, keeping proper written records.
Responsible for budget management of maintenance department.
Equipment Knowledge:
Proper use of overhead cranes, fork trucks, shears, hand tools and other equipment.
Microsoft applications.
Experience with PLC and/or computer programming.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Vocational School degree or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of responsible experience in maintenance of metal fabrication and machining equipment.
Electrical experience in 120V, 240V, 480V, single-phase and three-phase.
Experience maintaining computer systems and networking.
REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid drivers license.
Working knowledge and ability to MIG, TIG and stick weld.
Ability to prioritize and analyze problems and find safe, workable solutions.
Well organized with the ability to supervise and effectively delegate projects.
Excellent mechanical aptitude and average math skills, with emphasis on fractions and decimals.
Ability to follow instructions and direction.
Ability to read, use tape measure, calculator and other measurement equipment.
Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals, blueprints and schematics.
Ability to meet predefined deadlines while under pressure and stress.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Good manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination. Close vision, depth perception, color and ability to adjust focus.
Thorough and attentive to detail in all tasks.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to train and mentor.
Capable of wearing PPE for an entire shift, including: safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
Adhere to all safety standards and practices as established by the EHandS department.
Maintain clean and safe work area.
Perform all other duties as assigned or required.
Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work 100% of the time in a manufacturing setting: walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting, carrying and sitting.
Majority of work activities performed indoors, working in an area with temperature variations, noise, dust and fumes. Occasional work activity is performed outdoors.
Occasional work activity requires individual to work from elevated locations, up to 50 feet using manlift or ladder.
