AM Sous Chef

We are looking for a sous chef to work in the mornings at BESA, a fine dining restaurant in downtown Detroit. This is a full time position working approximately 50 hours a week, starting salary is 45k/year, can negotiate based on experience. An ideal candidate is dependable, team oriented, and has a strong work ethic. We take pride in the details of our work, the cleanliness of our kitchen, and the consistency of our food. At least one year of experience cooking in a fine dining setting required. Please respond with your resume.

The responsibilities of the job are:

- Complete daily prep projects, these are bulk tasks such as sauces, pastas, and braises

- Receive, check in, and organize orders such as produce, meat, seafood, and dry goods

- Communicate with vendors regarding orders that may be incorrect or contain sub par ingredients

- Work efficiently and cleanly

- Report to Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine to complete tasks to the restaurant expectation

- Clean and close the prep area at the end of the shift to a high standard
