The Funding Specialist I for Steel Lending Group is responsible for customer service and day-to-day funding and administrative tasks for Steel Lending Group’s customers and auto dealers.

Time Commitment: This job requires full-time, in office availability, during normal business hours. Monday through Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Compensation: Non-Exempt position, hourly wage

Reports to: Office Manager

Back up person: Office Manager or their designee

Work location: In-Office

Professional Requirements

- Dress and communicate (both verbally and in writing) in a professional manner that instills confidence in the prospect and communicates Steel Lending Group’s professional image.

- Project an out-going, friendly demeanor, with the ability to easily meet and converse with people.

This position represents Steel Lending Group and must always act in a professional manner.

- Respond to all email, text, phone, in person and internet inquiries from referral sources promptly.

One major advantage of using Steel Lending Group is speed; it is expected that the Funding Specialist will respond quickly, consistently, and concisely to all inquiries.

- Be up to date on all Steel Lending Group programs, guidelines, and pricing.

- Assist in the office with customer service and all aspects of dealer funding, as necessary.

Clerical and Customer Service

- Answer Incoming calls

- Provide excellent customer service to customers and auto dealers

- Answer customer inquiries on accounts

- Process payments via customer request

- Route calls to appropriate SLG employee(s)

- Handle and process incoming mail, update information in system as needed for changes on customer accounts (address/insurance etc.)

- Responsible for keep the kitchen tidy reporting to the OM items in need of restocking/replacement.

- Fill copiers and fax machines with paper.

- Inventory supplies and provides OM items in need of restocking/replacement, twice monthly.

Loan Origination Prospecting, Purchase and Funding

The Funding Specialist I will assist and be the backup for many tasks associated with funding loans to include but not limited to:

- Obtaining any trailing docs form the dealer or borrower

- Title Management

- Insurance Management

- Scrub and enter new deals

- Setting up file in servicing software

- Posting Payments

- Processing Payoffs

- Documentation

While Steel Lending Group anticipates it will receive loan inquires direct from borrowers on occasion, most Steel Lending Group’s loans are referred from Oregon and Nevada Auto dealers. Steel Lending Group will deploy a digital and online strategy to raise the profile of their business and products to the automobile industry but is aware that most business comes from personal relationships built with dealers directly.

Assist with the quarterly and annual reporting requirements related to all investment platforms as required by state and federal regulators and as necessary for the company’s professional accounting and legal advisors and Fund partners

Perform all duties with a priority on the protection of the company, its officers, and investors.

The following activities would be expected in the marketing of auto dealers by the Funding Specialist:

- Seek out and discover automobile dealers in Oregon that Steel Lending Group can provide its services to its customers.

- Work with the President, and Steel Lending Group’s Marketing Team in developing marketing materials, strategies, and events to attract more business.

- Create and maintain an individual profile and contact record in Steel Lending Group’s contact management system (CRM) for dealerships being marketed or dealerships that should be marketed by Steel Lending Group.

- Attend and participate in industry social, education, networking, and marketing events.

Compensation & Benefits
