Fedex Driver Needed for Peak Season 2024

FedEx is seeking seasonal AVP drivers to help meet the increased demand during the holiday season. AVP drivers are responsible for delivering packages in personal vehicles or company-supplied alternative vehicles (such as golf carts or smaller vehicles) in residential and urban areas. This temporary role supports FedEx's commitment to delivering exceptional service during the busiest time of the year. Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Packages: Safely and efficiently deliver packages using an alternative vehicle to customers’ homes or businesses within a designated area.

Follow Delivery Routes: Follow pre-planned delivery routes using GPS or route sheets provided by FedEx to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Package Handling: Load and unload packages into your vehicle, ensuring secure handling and transportation.

Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service when delivering packages, including obtaining signatures when required.

Adhere to Safety Regulations: Follow all safety guidelines, traffic laws, and company policies to ensure personal and public safety during deliveries.

Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that the alternative vehicle is in good working condition and report any issues to the appropriate manager.

Qualifications:

Valid Driver’s License: A valid and up-to-date driver’s license is required.

Personal Vehicle (if required): If using your own vehicle, it must meet FedEx's safety and reliability standards. Proper insurance is also required.

Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Good Driving Record: A clean driving record with no major violations.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs. May require extended periods of walking, standing, and driving.

Flexible Availability: Must be available to work during peak hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve).

Customer Service Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.

Preferred Skills:

Prior delivery or driving experience is an advantage.

Familiarity with GPS or routing software.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet delivery deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Rate: Competitive hourly wage, with possible overtime during peak periods.
