Full-Time Director of PR - Remote or in OC

Our PR agency in Irvine, California is seeking a new, full-time Director of PR.

This position can be fully remote or partially remote with one in-office day per week.

What we need:

A seasoned PR professional who loves managing others, advising on over-arching B2B media relations and PR strategies to ensure high-quality results, problem-solving with clients, setting internal processes and ensuring they are followed, monitoring department software systems and costs to ensure monthly billing targets are met, and working collaboratively within a leadership team to help grow and improve their company.

Reporting:

>Reports to Executive Vice President

>Manages a team of 3-4 direct reports

Key Responsibilities:

>Client and Media Relationship Management / Client Services: Retain and foster strong relationships with clients and media to ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnership.

>PR Process: Define, establish and ensure successful implementation of the public relations and client service process within the department to drive efficiency and consistency.

>PR Strategy: Develop and set over-arching PR strategies for the department, keeping the team informed about the latest trends and industry developments. Implement quality control to maintain high-level PR and client service standards across department.

>Training and Development: Maintain and implement training systems for the PR department to enhance the skills and capabilities of the team. Train and onboard new PR and client service team members.

>Active Management: Meet with PR team members regularly. Manage workload capacity within the department, making recommendations for new hires as needed. Conduct performance management for the department and direct reports, offering feedback and support for their professional growth.

>Monitoring / Results: Establish reporting system to track department performance and key performance indicators (KPIs). Regularly review department performance to ensure that it aligns with established KPIs and maintains a high level of quality. Proactively identify and solve problems within the department to improve efficiency.

>Industry Expertise: Possess a high-level understanding of client strategies and objectives, primarily in finance and real estate investment. Maintain a broad understanding of economic factors and their impact on client markets. Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in client industries.

>Monthly Billing: Ensure that monthly billing targets are consistently met across the department, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. Explore opportunities for upselling client scopes and contribute to business development efforts.

Requirements:

>Strong organizational skills and detail orientation to effectively manage a variety of clients, team members, and projects.

>Curiosity and an ongoing desire to learn and develop new skills.

>An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently and autonomously will make for great success here.

>Knowledge of real estate, finance, investment, architecture and/or economics is beneficial.
