All work is carried out under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.This position qualifies for our Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program, which includes $5000 in commitment incentives spread over a two-year period. Payment is made after six months, one year, and two years of employment. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, fulfills medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and/or affiliated with the health-system.
Compounds and/or repackages medications (non-sterile products, oral, topical, etc.) under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
Coordinates shipments to hospitals and clinics with multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensures compliance with temperature requirements (i.e; cold chain, room temperature)
Documents pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc. using automated and paper systems. Ensures accuracy of data.
Responds to and triages requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
Supports hospital automated dispensing technology to supply correct refill medications thru targeted distribution programs.
Receives, restocks, and rotates inventory, and completes expiration date management.
Assists with training of new employees, educating them in job-specific functions.
Contributes to process improvement projects.
Participates in regulatory compliance inspection of medication storage areas, including inspections and/or controlled substance inventories, USP797 and other regulatory documentation as required.
