Small business assembly assistant
We are looking for some seasonal help that may have the option to be more full-time. Our business is a small product design and manufacturing/e-commerce business based in North Nashville. We are growing and looking to add to our small team. The position is to assist our production manager as needed in final assembly and packaging of our custom products. Below is a breakdown of the job details.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performing product assembly, riveting metal parts, using hand tools, etc.
- Packaging and shipping all products which include mailboxes, signage, and accessories
- Possibility to learn and operate specialty sublimation process (this is a stretch goal to move up in pay and responsibility)
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing and distribution
- Basic knowledge and experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to safely operate a forklift (we will provide certification training if employment becomes more full-time)
- Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- Demonstrate ability to implement and respond to change
- Understanding and supporting company policies and procedures.
- Reliable attendance
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push and or pull up to 50 lbs. frequently
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
- Sit, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours per day while performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in a climate controlled industrial environment with safety equipment as needed to include hearing protection, vision protection, clothing, footwear, etc.
Hours and Compensation:
Part-time position for up to 24 hours per week. Potential for full-time for right candidate. Shift hours for this position are 8am-2pm
Hourly Pay Range: $18-$22 per hour (based on experience)
