Ambulatory Nephrology (Dialysis) - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational skills to join our team in providing direct patient care to ambulatory hemodialysis patients at various off-site locations.This individual should possess excellent communication & documentation skills, be flexible & be able to work independently.Key responsibilities:· Conduct thorough assessments of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments and evaluate nephrology-related issues.· Perform yearly comprehensive histories and physicals, and actively participate in patient care conferences with the healthcare team, including care plan meetings.· Respond to and adapt to the diverse and challenging needs of our patient population.· Work collaboratively with care time members both inside and outside URMC.· Participate in the education of learners, including students and new employees, through clinical experiences, knowledge sharing, and skill training.· Coordinate care across care environments and systems of care.· Bill for services rendered including monthly capitated billing.Applicants must be eligible for NP/PA certification in New York State.Qualifications Nurse PractitionerRequire a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.Physician AssistantRequires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. Schedule: FT position available (40 hours), M-F days with some early evening work. No weekends or holidays.
