What we do: The Benefits Team is responsible for providing support and expertise to employees in regards to Benefit Administration, Leave Accrual and Management, Workers Compensation and ADA Accommodations and needs. The team also manages and completes personnel actions, unemployment claims and file reviews. The typical day for a Benefits Supervisor: As a working supervisor, you'll be using your knowledge and leadership skills to provide oversight to three HR professional positions with subject matter expertise and technical knowledge of Benefit Administration (Medical, Health, Dental and Vision), Leaves of Absence (FMLA, Short Term Disability), Worker's Compensation, Personnel Actions, and Unemployment Claims. Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the Benefits department.

Coach and train HR benefits professionals to deliver on business objectives with a customer service focus.

Provide direct leadership for the Benefits team including, but not limited to, setting expectations, assigning tasks and deadlines, establishing work standards, monitoring progress and workflow, and performance management and employee development.

Manage the end-to-end open enrollment process to include training around benefit choices to ensure maximum utilization.

Continually analyze and provide reporting on the department's benefit package while providing recommendations based on employee surveys to enhance offerings.

Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for ADA Employment Title I and Public Services Title II.

Administer a comprehensive and compliant ADA program for the Department of Revenue while continually analyzing and interpreting ADA best practices and requirements.

Facilitate and participate in the interactive ADA process to identify and provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with ADA and other disability laws, policies and procedures and ensure the process is timely and information communicated is accurate.

Participate in audits and provide recommendations to improve policies, procedures and processes.

Strong computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google workspace.

Background in working in a support function.

Demonstrated ability in auditing processes and recommending improvements.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, presenting, and conducting annual reviews.

Conditions of Employment with the CDOR:

Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.

As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.
