Construction Yard Porter

Position Overview: As a yard Porter you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

Keep the yard organized and clean, including sweeping and removing debris.

Wash and clean trucks, heavy equipment, and tools to ensure they are free from dirt and grime.

Support Mechanics by cleaning up any spills or messes created during mechanical repairs and maintenance.

Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure that all cleaning materials and methods are used correctly.

Manage inventory by keeping track of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when stock is low.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role or in the construction industry is preferred but not required.

Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.

Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items, standing for extended

periods, and working in various weather conditions.

Strong attention to detail to ensure all areas and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and maintained.

Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors.
