Miller keeps the tradition alive by focusing on its top priority: people.Job Description:Are you a seasoned Mechanical Engineer excited to solve real-world challenges and leave your mark?The Power Systems Division of Miller Electric is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross functional engineering teams, and operations, manufacturing, customer support, and marketing to support Customer Backed Innovation (CBI) as well as support our existing product lines.What you will focus on in the Senior Mechanical Engineering role: Design, develop, prototype, test, DFMA and ongoing continuous improvement of Power Systems Division products. Effectively collaborate with product managers, engineers, technicians, service and manufacturing personnel to create and implement reliable, innovative, and cost-effective solutions for our customers. Includes resolution of field, manufacturing line and supplier related issues. Participate in project meetings and be responsible for assigned action items and project deliverablesMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience. Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Proficient in computer design skills including SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and Microsoft Office. Proven track record of design and meeting project timeline criteria. Ability to select, analyze, and test materials for design based on durability and cost effectiveness Ability to analyze and solve thermal, mechanical, sound attenuation and packaging issues Project management skills – aggressively manage medium to large projectsPreferred Qualifications: Familiarity with regulatory standards CSA, IEC, NEC, EPA, UL, EPA and ETL Sheet metal, plastics and aluminum casting/extruding design knowledge Familiarity with a variety of product packaging concepts, practices and procedures Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines Vibration attenuation knowledge and the ability to use related analysis equipment Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines Experienced in customer focused innovation with a keen understanding of design criteria differentiation Proven track record of innovation, design, margin improvements DC and AC motor/generator knowledge Hydraulics, pneumatics and HVAC design experienceAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
