OUR FAMILY ASSISTANT: We’d like to work with a FA that is open to partnering with our team long-term. Our FA will be experienced, proactive, outgoing, energetic, and excited to engage the kids at their level. Our FA should also be comfortable working with us collaboratively. FT FAMILY ASSISTANT NEEDED IN BLUE RIDGE – NOV START!

OUR FAMILY: Our eclectic household is a whirlwind of activity, with four kids ranging in age from 9 months to 17-years-old! (9mo, 6yo, 11yo, 17yo) We have a mix of neurotypical and neurodivergent kiddos, so there’s something for everyone. Our youngest is in full-time daycare, and the older three are in school full-time (though we share custody of our 6-year-old). The childcare aspect of the role will be primarily focused on our older 2 kiddos in the late afternoons (4pm-6pm) as our baby is in full-time daycare and our 6yo attends after-school care. They love a trip to the store or a playdate at the playground. And of course, they love snacks—all the snacks!

OUR HOME: Busy, but relaxed. There’s always something going on, but we try not to obsess over the small stuff and embrace the chaos. While we enjoy being clean, organized, and tidy, it isn’t always in the cards for us and that’s okay.

OUR GOALS: Safety is the highest priority. We’d love someone who is comfortable taking them out for outings while understanding how critical safety is and not letting the kiddos roam. At the same time, the kids are at school all day with a lot of demands and we are fine for them to come home and chill. Having some sensory activities would be great, but we don’t need someone to entertain them 24/7. They are fairly independent but need help to stay safe and meet their basic needs (facilitating snack time).

OUR SONG: “I Like to Move It” from Madagascar 2.

OUR FAMILY ASSISTANT: Someone who can learn the kids and learn what works for them. Sometimes we may give specific instructions to help the time go well and it would be good if someone could follow those directions vs. try to do their own thing. Someone patient and very detail-oriented. Able to keep tabs on multiple things at once. On the house assistant front, we’re really looking for someone to learn our family: what we eat, what we like, and take some of the mental load off of us by placing grocery orders, starting and completing laundry including learning where to put things away, meal planning and prep. With us both working full time and having 4 kids, we really are looking for someone to be an extension of “leadership team” aka another adult on deck! Job will also shift to child-focused on school breaks/when a kiddo is home sick. A background in working with kids with special needs will be crucial to help our family thrive.

START: 11-01-2024, flexible for the right fit.

SCHEDULE: 34 hours guaranteed, M-F: 12pm-6pm. We would love to extend one of the weekdays to include a date night. Additionally, we could tack on a few additional hours (up to 40) for the right fit.

RATE: $38-40 per hour.

BENEFITS: Guaranteed Hours, Sick Pay, Paid Federal Holidays, 2 weeks PTO FA’s choice, $200 Healthcare Stipend.

REQUIREMENTS: Submit an application demonstrating a strong background in childcare and/or education with similar ages (min of 3 yrs professional experience). Extensive experience with special needs children. Applicants must also meet the following: pristine background and ability to pass a background check, safe driving record, 3 glowing long-term (1+ years) employment references, current CPR/First Aid certs or willingness to renew before hire, enthusiasm and passion for working with children, authorization to work in the US, ability to commit to the stated timeline, safe and reliable vehicle. No accompanying children permitted.

FULL-TIME NANNY NEEDED IN EASTLAKE – APRIL 2025!

OUR FAMILY: Relaxed, empathetic, down-to-earth, and understanding Midwestern folk who love the outdoors, our dogs, having a laugh, and are generally easygoing, chill people. Our kiddo is someone WE haven’t even met yet! We are expecting our first child in January 2025 and are looking for the right person to help us fill in the gaps as we get back to work and figure out just exactly what the heck we’re supposed to be doing!

OUR HOME: Our home is our sanctuary. We keep things clean and organized and hope to continue that once we’ve got a baby (we know it will be a challenge!) Logistically it’s a tri-level townhouse, so stairs are definitely a thing here. We live in the heart of Eastlake with some lovely views of Lake Union, and are right near a park. We have two very well-behaved and well-exercised Siberian Huskies who are incredibly sweet and loving- they do shed a lot though!

OUR GOALS: Our goals are to have an excellent working relationship between our family and the nanny we hire. This person will be helping to shape this child’s life, and so naturally we want to make sure that we treat one another with mutual respect, care, and empathy and are really able to integrate that person into our daily lives. We hope they will be open to child-related tasks during naptime and letting the dogs out when needed.

OUR SONG: Not a song, a whole album. Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life”

OUR NANNY: We hope they will be themselves! Whoever we hire, we want to make sure they’re bringing their whole authentic self to work with them every day. As WFH parents, you will be spending WAY too much time with us to be anything other than exactly who you are. If you are reliable, honest, empathetic, and kind, that certainly won’t hurt! Extensive experience with newborns, child development, and infant care are crucial. We are excited to celebrate this journey together!

START: Mid-March, TBD depending on baby and work logistics.

SCHEDULE: 40 hours guaranteed. M-F, 8am-4pm.

RATE: $33-35 per hour.

BENEFITS: Guaranteed Hours, Sick Pay, Paid Federal Holidays, PTO, Healthcare Stipend.

REQUIREMENTS: Submit an application demonstrating a strong background in childcare and/or education with similar ages (min of 3 yrs professional experience). Applicants must also meet the following: pristine background and ability to pass a background check, safe driving record, 3 glowing long-term (1+ years) employment references, current CPR/First Aid certs or willingness to renew before hire, enthusiasm and passion for working with children, authorization to work in the US, ability to commit to the stated timeline, safe and reliable vehicle, COVID vaccination and booster. No accompanying children permitted.
