General Labor/Maintenance Worker
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Labor/Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the maintenance and cleanliness of our facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing equipment, fixing leaks, painting, and ensuring general upkeep of the facility.
Groundskeeping: Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the property, including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, raking leaves, and removing debris.
Cleaning: Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas; ensure all areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition.
Repairs: Assist with minor repairs and improvements to building infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various tools and machinery used in maintenance tasks, ensuring they are used safely and correctly.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain supplies and equipment inventory; report any shortages or needs to the supervisor.
Assistance: Provide support to other departments as needed, including setting up for events and moving furniture or equipment.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a maintenance, janitorial, or general labor role preferred.
Skills: Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure tasks are completed accurately and to high standards.
Communication: Good verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
Reliability: Strong work ethic with a dependable and punctual nature.
Safety Awareness: Understanding of and commitment to workplace safety practices.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
