Head Automotive Technician, BMW Specialist

Our goal is to provide unrivaled, dealer-quality service to BMW owners in the Ocala and Marion County Metro areas, at a more affordable price. We seek a talented individual that can help us build our business. We need an experienced technician that is well versed in BMW vehicle repairs and technologies. The candidate must have prior experience and a proven track record of strong BMW repair and diagnostic ability. This is not an entry level tech position. Qualifications:

- A minimum 5 years of verifiable employment as a Service Technician working primarily on European Vehicles, preferably BMW, additional experience is a plus

- Extensive familiarity and experience with ISTA diagnostic software and other diagnostic systems, such as AUTEL and Autologic

- Extensive coding and programming experience

- Extensive knowledge and understanding of various BMW electronic and software systems, their functions, common failures, how to diagnose them and how to repair them

- Extensive knowledge and understanding of various BMW engine families and mechanical systems, their functions, common failures, how to diagnose them and how to repair them

- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and software problems on a wide range of BMW systems, for vehicles of past and present generations

- ASE certifications and BMW specific training are highly preferred

- Previous leadership or managerial experience is highly preferred

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities:

- Assist with delegation of duties and workflow management, as needed

- Provide guidance and support, as needed, to other team members

- Diagnose the cause of any mechanical, electrical, or software malfunction and perform the necessary repairs to correct it

- Perform in-depth, multi-point inspections on every vehicle that comes in for service and submit the findings to SA

- Generate and submit detailed notes to SA, via shop management system, that include inspection results, recommended repairs, scope of work to be performed, parts required for repairs, and any other relevant information required to obtain work approval from the customer

- Perform approved work that is outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy

- Promptly notify SA of any unexpected changes that could impact workflow, so that the customer can be informed in a timely manner

- Verify and ensure completion of vehicle repairs through quality control checks and final test drive

- Keep shop area neat and clean

- Display a professional work ethic and manage time appropriately and efficiently

Compensation will be commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications that the candidate brings to the position.
