Cabinet and Millwork Shop Foreman

We are searching for a skilled Journeyman Cabinet and Millwork Foreman with experience in managing the shop and personnel in conjunction with the Operations Manager. At our company, we take pride in our diverse range of cabinetry and millwork. We are in Kailua Kona, HI, and are searching for a Foreman who shares our commitment to ensuring our projects meet the highest standards from start to finish.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee all new cabinet, millwork, and custom furniture projects.

Oversee, train, and maintain shop equipment.

Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.

Problem-solving skills with a can-do, work-together attitude.

Maintaining standards in quality and craftsmanship is a must.

Manage and participate in the precise execution and completion of each customer project.

Meet deadlines, even when they may be tight.

Advise and oversee the appropriate care for finished products.

Cut, assemble, and complete wood, laminate, and veneer cabinets.

Milling of running and standing trims, T&G, and other millwork.

Maintain and monitor the shop to keep a clean and safe workspace and abide by all safety standards.

Oversee the regular maintenance and care of equipment upkeep.

Supervises the cabinet shop employees.

Ability to stand for hours, occasionally necessary to stoop, kneel, and lift 50+ pounds.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in casework, cabinet making, doors and millwork.

Experience running and maintaining large shop equipment, such as slide saws, drum sanders, shapers, band saws, molders, and edge banders.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, highly organized, and the ability to teach others.

Ability to read cabinet shop drawings, interpret blueprints, create cut lists, and do material take-offs.

Basic knowledge of wood species, especially woods used in construction in Hawaii.

Ability to identify materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all our finished products' sequential and book matching.

Responsible for ensuring all production is completed safely and on time and verifying that the quality of the final product meets company standards.

Ensure all shop equipment is well maintained and in good working order.

The ability to work with Cabinet Vision or similar programs and running a CNC is a plus.

Be capable of following and upholding all company policies and requirements outlined in the employee handbook.

Keep a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm

Must have reliable daily transportation.
