Location: Columbia, MO/at HQ 2-3 times a weekJob Summary:EquipmentShare is looking for a Manager of Economic Development Initiatives to lead our strategic efforts in expanding our footprint through skillful negotiation of incentives and site selection. This role is pivotal in spearheading economic development projects and forging sustainable, durable relationships with political, economic development, and community stakeholders nationwide.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneDuties/Responsibilities:
Project Leadership in Economic Development: Lead initiatives to identify and secure optimal sites for expansion, leveraging economic incentives to support sustainable business growth.
Strategic Negotiation and Partnership Development: Negotiate incentives and collaborate with local governments and economic development agencies to foster environments conducive to mutual growth.
Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build and maintain durable relationships with a network of political and economic development stakeholders across various regions, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
Collaborative Strategic Planning: Work closely with internal teams, including Real Estate, Construction and Operations, to align economic development strategies with broader corporate goals.
Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all activities comply with applicable laws and regulations while keeping leadership informed through regular, detailed reports on project status and stakeholder engagements.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Deep understanding of economic incentives, public policy, and regulatory environments.
Strong ability to establish, grow, and maintain impactful relationships with key external stakeholders.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in economic development, public policy, or related fields, with proven success in leading development projects and negotiating with governmental bodies.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit at a desk while looking at a computer for long periods of time.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Must be able to travel up to 80% with overnight travel required.
