Cascade East Transit is looking for a Fleet & Facilities Manager located in Bend, OR. The successful applicant will bring direct experience in developing and managing capital construction projects, maintenance and repairs of buildings, custodial and grounds services, and fleet maintenance and asset management. $5,969.00 - $10,466.00/Monthly, DOE and Qualifications. Experience working in a public transportation environment and knowledge of OSHA safety rules a plus. Summary of Duties:
Under general direction from the Transportation Director and in accordance with all laws and regulations, the Fleet and Facilities Manager position develops and manages Cascades East Transit (CET) capital construction projects, maintenance and repairs of buildings, custodial and grounds services, and fleet maintenance and asset management.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- At least six (6) years of work experience as a manager of fleet maintenance and building/facilities maintenance department; OR an Associate's Degree in a related field (such as Facility Management, Engineering, Business or Public Administration) plus at least four (4) years of work experience managing fleet maintenance and building/facilities maintenance; OR the equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field.
- At least four (4) years of progressive management and supervisory experience required.
- Current valid CDL, or ability to obtain a CDL within six months of hire. CDL must include a current ODOT Medical Exam Card and air brake and passenger endorsement
- Operations Management:
- Ability to supervise and provide leadership to staff.
- Ability to oversee a large department and its associated workforce while championing service, safety, and compliance.
- Ability to ensure the day-to-day service obligations of Fleet & Facilities Maintenance are fulfilled.
- Projecting the near-, mid-, and long-term needs (fleet equipment, staffing and other related resources).
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals; Knowledge of or ability to interpret and apply Federal and State program requirements based on statutes, regulations, and program guidelines.
- Superb communication skills:
- Ability to write routine reports and professional correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with customers, employees, and peers. Ability to produce and present reports and project details.
- Organize and facilitate effective meetings, prepare, and give presentations.
- Teamwork/leadership:
- Possess a strong commitment to team dynamics and resolving group conflict, strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Work independently and diplomatically, as well as ability to work as part of a team, Work with diverse groups and varied individuals.
- Technology:
- Above average proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge and experience with planned maintenance, asset management, and work order software and various database software.
- Knowledge of basic business accounting principles.
- Functional knowledge of Federal and Bureau of Labor and industries (BOLI) Wage and Hour Laws.
- Working knowledge of Union Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Must be able to pass and maintain and clean a criminal background and driving background check
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and maintain a clean drug screen throughout employment in accordance with CET's Drug and Alcohol Policy.
- Valid driver's license and access to private vehicle or equivalent means of transportation.
- Must maintain client and agency confidentiality.
