Our Real Estate Investment & Development Company is seeking a seasoned Attorney to join our team. Interested candidates should have at least seven years of civil litigation experience in business litigation and/or commercial real estate law, with a track record of successfully handling complex cases. This role requires extensive experience in litigation, and a deep understanding of legal principles. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in Texas. This is a remote position, but candidates must live near Houston, Texas in order to be able to attend court appearances and depositions as needed.

Responsibilities of the Attorney:

Managing litigation cases across various practice areas

Developing and implementing case strategies that align with team goals

Overseeing discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation

Represent the company and it's subsidiaries in mediations, arbitrations, conferences, depositions, administrative hearings, and court proceedings

Negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions.

Providing guidance on legal strategies, and case management

Independently negotiate, draft, and/or revise all manner of corporate and commercial agreements (e.g., vendor, system, or customer) and other legal documents.

Develop and improve agreement templates, transaction workflows and processes

Business development and expansion

Collection activity to include filing liens

Client dispute resolution

Requirements for the Attorney:

4-10 years of civil litigation experience

Business litigation and/or commercial real estate experience preferred

Licensed to practice and in good standing in Texas

J.D. from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

Highly proficient using Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, and Outlook

Experience drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, as well as taking and defending deposition skills
