Clymer Museum & Gallery Manager
Basic Function
The Manager Clymer Museum and Gallery position provides day-to-day oversight and management of the operation. Includes facilities, rentals, gift shop sales. Oversight of staff, including training and onboarding. Responsibility includes hosting/organizing museum events as needed. Position reports to the President of the John Ford Clymer foundation and works closely with the Clymer Foundation Board of Directors (BOD). The manager is an ad hoc member of the Clymer Board of Directors and is expected to attend BOD meetings to provide updates and information. The manager works collaboratively with the museum’s Artistic Director on all issues related to the collection and gift shop.
Qualifications
Two years managerial experience in retail, gallery or museums. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in Art or History preferred.
Details
Business acumen is essential with a successful record of sales is key. Great customer service is a must, and well as marketing Clymer programs, exhibits and the retail store. Working closely with the BOD to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and other events. May assist in the development of grant proposals. Assists in the development and creation of promotional materials for museum events.
Hours
32 hours per week, with some flex time possible. Must be available weekends and evening, depending upon Museum events.
Salary
Dependent upon background and experience.
