Position Summary:
The Cook 1 position is responsible for providing skilled labor and cooking/production support for Dining Services, as well as general support for WOU Services. The role requires strong leadership and communication skills while adhering to departmental policies and standards. Responsibilities include preparing menu items to order, setting up, cleaning, and stocking service areas as needed.
This position will also monitor students in all service and production areas to ensure adherence to standardized recipes and sanitary production and serving methods. Additionally, the Cook 1 will assist in training lower-level staff and students in production areas. The schedule is flexible and may vary based on business needs, with potential interruptions during academic breaks or periods of low business activity. The Cook 1 is expected to follow all WOU and WOU Dining policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
● one year of experience as a cook in a commercial food service facility; OR
● possession of a Certificate of Completion in culinary arts and/or Foods and Hospitality Service from a certified community college or technical school.
