We care about our employees well-being and offer benefits that complement work/life balance.This position assists the Supervisor of Food and Nutrition in matters relating to performance, improvement, menu development, manual coordination, patient education materials, standards of practice, patient food review, hospital committees participation, planning/providing employee training/development. This position will also cover inpatient care for RDN/Supervisor during times of vacation/leave. You'll also collaborate with members of the health care team to provide the highest possible patient satisfaction levels while upholding the mission and values of the hospital. Provides nutrition care of patients including screening, assessment, intervention, medical nutrition therapy and discharge planning to ensure patient nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
Provides age and cultural specific nutrition counseling to patients, outpatients and their families.
Collaborates and communicates with Nutrition Department on the individual nutrition intervention plans of patients.
Stays current with most recent nutrition related trends, research, policy, certifications, registrations and standards of practice and all federal, state and local regulations.
Complies with operating standards, assists with implementation of quality improvements, productivity programs and communicates them to other departments
Provides nutrition education to facility and public through the development and presentation of classes, articles, handouts.
Consults to contract accounts on scheduled days and communicates with contracted facility administrator or account representative regarding nutrition care provided.
Writes orders for diet, supplement, enteral/parenteral nutrition and laboratory data per hospital policy.
Responsible for other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager/upper management.
Qualifications
Professional Dietetic License required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics.
Licensed through ND Board of Dietetic Practice
Registered through Commission of Dietetic Registration within four (4) months of hire date.
Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
Must be proficient with computers and computer applications used in the healthcare setting.
