Project Superintendent

Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership and Oversight:
- Acts as the on-site representative of Haskel Sears Design for the GC project, overseeing all aspects of construction from start to finish.
- Manages and coordinates the work of all subcontractors involved in the project, ensuring they adhere to plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Monitors project progress against the schedule and budget, identifying and addressing any potential delays or cost overruns promptly.
- Ensures the project adheres to all building codes, safety regulations, and permit requirements.
- Communication and Documentation:
- Maintains clear and consistent communication with the Project Manager regarding project progress, challenges, and potential solutions.
- Prepares and submits daily reports documenting project activities, milestones achieved, and any issues encountered.
- Uses a project management app to provide project updates and communicate with other team members.
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Conducts regular quality inspections throughout the construction process to ensure all work meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Implements a comprehensive safety program on the jobsite, enforcing safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks for workers and visitors.
- Responds to and resolves any quality or safety concerns promptly.
- Client Management:
- Acts as the primary point of contact for the client on the jobsite, addressing their questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Manages client expectations by providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any potential issues proactively.
- Ensures the project is completed to the client's satisfaction upon handover.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction field, preferably with experience as a Project Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, scheduling, budgeting, and project management principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with subcontractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and clients.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems effectively and think critically to address unforeseen challenges.
- Proficient in construction project management software (optional, but a plus).
- Valid OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification or willingness to acquire this certification.
- Reasonably physically fit. Capable of standing for long periods and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
