POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the department Supervisor/Manager, the Painter is responsible for coating surface parts, assembling and finishing products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, dope or stain using spray gun.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Determines and selects correct mixes of coating material.
Applies paint to parts as directed by job orders.
Identifies and coats areas that are inaccessible to hand sprayer.
Identifies problems with equipment and will troubleshoot or repair paint guns.
Responsible for running ovens as needed.
Will complete visual inspection of masking on parts to ensure consistency as well as inspect for damaged product.
Completes necessary paperwork.
Works closely with the production team and assist as needed.
Adheres to safety regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate, read, and understand English.
Basic math skills.
Experience using and troubleshooting gravity spray gun.
Previous experience in aerospace industry or automotive repair, a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with team members at all levels in the organization.
ITAR REQUIREMENT:
Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking/Standing for prolonged periods of time
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Exposed heat, noise and chemical fumes while in production areas
Good hand and eye coordination and movement
