GENERAL PURPOSE:Performs functions associated with patient information processing for ambulatory care visits. Completes the tasks of reception, registration, appointment scheduling, NetHealth/Agility task management. In-Basket management and Telephone encounter management using the electronic medical record and patient access. Ensures patient satisfaction with information processing and reception service. Requires accuracy in order to generate a billable service for the provider. Responsible for functions being completed in an accurate, efficient, and customer friendly manner. May act as a resource to staff.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs functions associated with patient information processing through tasks such as front desk reception, registration, appointment scheduling, in-basket and phone management.

Manages and responds to phone calls

In-basket and mail management

Prepares next-day charts

Reminds patients of upcoming appointments through phone calls/letters.

Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma required and

1-year related experience in an administrative office or customer service field required or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Medical terminology, experience with scheduling software and electronic medical records preferred.
