Associate Director of Compensation, USA & Canada

Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Jersey City team is looking for a new Associate Director of Compensation to join our Human Resources team.Your RoleWe are seeking a hands-on, consultative, and strategic-minded compensation partner to join our compensation team in Jersey City, New Jersey. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards for the Americas region, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of compensation programs, processes and projects within the United States, Canada and the global organization of dedicated business units. Under the direction of the global compensation function at our global headquarters, the role ensures alignment and harmonization with our total compensation programs.Your Responsibilities
Contribute to the strategic direction and evolution of US and Canada compensation as well as global business units function within corporate parameters.
Implement bonus structure / management bonus plan for senior and top management roles according to guidelines established by Global TR Center of Expertise.
Manage annual compensation review processes, including bonus administration and salary review across different organizations.
Ensure that necessary approvals for compensation-related matters are obtained, as aligned within established corporate authority levels
Communicate Share Matching Plan, coordinate national tax evaluation and support nomination process.
Ensure competitiveness of base salary ranges and bonus levels by leveraging outside resources (Mercer). Perform pay equity analysis as needed.
Refine job grading structure which defines internal career paths and compensation levels by geography.
Consult with members of Executive Management and their respective HR Business Partners to resolve compensation challenges within their organization.
Implement processes to optimize internal pay equity, leveraging outside vendors as needed.
Manage 2 National Total Rewards Partners in the US and Canada.
Monitor geographical legislation and regulations to ensure compliance of compensation programs.
Stay informed on compensation trends in the marketplace, with focus on competitiveness in the supply chain operations / transportation industries.
Develop strategic partnerships with Finance, HR and Legal to understand their strategies and executive compensation objectives and to ensure compensation programs are fully understood.
Develop training programs for the HR business partners to build their skill set and comfort level with compensation analysis.
Your Skills and Experiences
10+ years of total experience in HR or related corporate function.
5+ years of experience in compensation or total towards and Mercer IPE or other leveling like WTW or Hay Grade.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Psychology, Human Resources or related field.
Experience working for a large multinational company and exposure to compensation programs and practices outside of the United States.
Proven ability to manage salary administration programs, including job evaluations and leading the participation in salary surveys.
Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills (e.g. complex v lookup).
Must be able to interface with and present complicated analysis to a variety of audiences, including executive management, in concise and understandable formats either virtually or live.
Experience evaluating, selecting and managing third party compensation providers and vendors.
Comfortable working 4 days a week in office with 1 work from home day per week.
Preferred Requirements:
Masters Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Psychology or related field.
S-CP, SPHR, or CCP certification.
Previous people management experience is a bonus.

The target total compensation range for this position is between $140,000 and $170,000. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
