This role is a full-time, internship role and is remote . The internship dates are June 2, 2025 to August 1, 2025.What You’ll Do
Support and perform security assessment and accreditation activities on IT systems and applications, including security audits and compliance, risk assessments, security plans, and system test and evaluations
Support and conduct verification and validation security testing
Review and document policy, incident response and remediation gaps
Collaborate with senior cybersecurity professionals to execute action plans for compliance related findings and recommendations
Document and provide relevant supporting data that would be used for remediation activities
Provide support relative to security control implementation
Support the maintenance of security policies and procedures
Assist with testing of security controls to ensure protection of systems
What You'll NeedRequired
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree
Junior status with 3.5 GPA or higher
Able to meet established deadlines
Works well in a team environment
Technical aptitude to quickly grasp and understand system functionality.
Attention to detail
Good documentation skills
IT network or systems administration experience
Preferred
Familiarity with compliance frameworks and IT controls is desired, but not required
Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ (Sec+)
Cybersecurity Analyst (CYSA+), or other security related certifications are desired, but not required
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
