HVAC Service Technician Job Summary:

HVAC company looking for a hard-working, dedicated HVAC Technician to join our growing team. The HVAC Technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, building controls, and rooftop units.

As an HVAC technician, you have the freedom to travel from job to job. If you are self-motivated, good at problem-solving, like working with your hands and enjoy meeting new people every day, this is the job for you. At our company, our technicians are tasked with working on ventilation, cooling and heating systems. HVAC technicians must be ready to repair, install and maintain operations in a residential and industrial/commercial building.

HVAC Technician Duties and Responsibilities

Travel to service calls, daily as scheduled

Perform consultations with customers

Determine customer needs and discuss all solution methods

Inspect current HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety

Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity

Conduct performance tests with specialized tools

Troubleshoot current HVAC system issues

Repair damaged HVAC systems

Sell ongoing maintenance contracts to current customers

Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment, tools, and HVAC resources

Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in different locations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods and techniques used in skilled HVAC maintenance and repair; working knowledge of safety practices, codes and regulations.

Knowledge of automated temperature control and industry standard HVAC control strategies.

Ability to operate power tools, gauges, and diagnostic or specialized equipment or software used in the trade.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, sketches, manuals, or work orders.

Ability to work safely and productively.

Ability to meet schedules and timelines.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, and to convey instructions to and from others.

Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with office staff, co-workers, mechanical engineers and other professionals when needed.

Work independently with limited direct supervision.

Ability to maintain simple and concise records and prepare accurate reports.
