Project Assistant
Description We are in search of a diligent Project Assistant to join our team in the non-profit sector, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The focus of this role will be to provide supportive services to the Registrar's office, ensuring smooth administrative operations and offering excellent customer service. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Administer and maintain the confidentiality of student files in line with the Family Education Records and Privacy Act (FERPA) Facilitate the enrollment document process by ensuring all documents are sent and received in a timely manner, and verifying their accuracy Utilize SIS (Anthology Student) and other technological platforms to manage student records and registration processes Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local data privacy practices including FERPA Engage positively with instructors, staff, and students, providing helpful assistance when necessary Respond promptly to all inquiries and requests Manage student bus cards, ensuring accurate ledger transactions and cash box balance Independently exercise judgement and employ critical thinking skills to resolve problems and improve processes and procedures Handle multiple tasks concurrently and manage frequent interruptions while maintaining attention to detail. Requirements Must have experience in customer service Proficiency in data entry is required Ability to effectively manage timelines and meet deadlines Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word Experience in organizing and maintaining files Familiarity with scanning documents and maintaining digital records Understanding of shipping functions and logistics Experience in the non-profit sector is desirable but not necessary Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
