The MITRE Intelligence Center’s Technical Analysis Department is looking for a seasoned multi-discipline systems engineer and special activities advisor to provide expert subject matter expertise to shape and develop opportunities for direct sponsor work on capability development, technical evaluation, and SME advisory projects across MITRE’s Intelligence Center sponsor base. This person will work with their project leader to represent MITRE to experienced operational stakeholders and help manage MITRE’s relationships with their organizations. The lead subject matter expert will also establish and maintain relationships with MITRE Labs organizations to maintain a diverse, capable resource pool to support frequently shifting mission priorities.This is a full-time position in either McLean, VA; Colorado Springs, CO; or Bedford, MA with travel expected 25%.Roles & Responsibilities:The successful candidate will demonstrate expert ability to perform direct sponsor work to support and facilitate DOD, IC, and interagency technical development and joint operations. Prior government or military service in technical intelligence or special operations is required to facilitate expert advice to aid interagency collaboration in a complex operational environment.Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
10+ years’ experience supporting intelligence community, special operations, or federal law enforcement.
Demonstrated success leading small teams or working independently in complex technical or sponsor dynamic environments.
A current, active Top Secret / SCI clearance with polygraph and ability to maintain classified sponsor network access is required.
Demonstrated experience in intelligence or special operations technical activities.
Experience relaying lessons learned, operational knowledge, and/or technical expertise to peers, subordinates, or other organizations.
Government civilian experience in the national intelligence community or military experience in special operations.
Excellent critical and strategic thinking abilities, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deployed overseas experience in the military or US government.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of the specialized mission needs and relevant technical solutions in highly constrained operational environments.
Demonstrated experience identifying and closing capability gaps between sponsor agencies.
Demonstrated knowledge of at least one of the following disciplines: Radio Frequency, Cyber, Electro Optical, Bio science, Geo science, Special Operations tactics and procedures, or related disciplines.
Experience translating operational mission needs into acquisition, technical, and programmatic requirements.
