We are looking to contract (1099) out this position for projects we have in the San Jose/Los Gatos area. This position has the potential of becoming a full-time role within our company.
Position Summary:
The Field Technician – level 2 manually surveys proposed job site conditions and communicates field notes to drafters and project managers to prepare site plans and fiber optic/small cell construction designs for permitting process. This position works with the Project Manager, and consults with Project Coordinator, & AutoCAD Drafters.
Major Responsibilities:
Knowing GO95/NESC rules and regulations so we can properly attach fiber to utility poles
Being able to fully base out an intersection
Analyze and design where the client’s fiber trench is going to be located.
Make sure that the fiber transitions from utility pole to underground smoothly.
Gathering field data on the poles for each height of attachments (telco, catv, power, etc.) either by measuring stick or IKE unit.
Taking multiple pictures of each pole.
Upload the pictures into project folders and name pictures correctly
Making sure that the pole is in safe condition, including but not limited to, looking for splits and making sure that the vegetation is cleared off poles, spans, and drops
Communicate between Fielders, Project Managers, Project, Coordinators, and the Make Ready Team.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Knowledge of GO95/NESC make ready engineering (preferred)
Ability to be self-sufficient
Strong work ethic
Ability to travel periodically
Ability to communicate effectively – oral and written
