Workskill is looking for:

Someone to adhere to all company and project safety programs, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local safety codes and regulations.

Focus on the finer details of woodworking with an excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.

Use advanced techniques with woodworking machinery such as bandsaws, drill presses, and bench grinders.

Read and manufacture blueprints or shop drawings with minimal supervision to apply working knowledge of methods, equipment, materials, and tools to fabricate and install highly complex, craftsman-quality exhibits.

Plan layouts and make design alterations as needed.

Cut and shape components by determining appropriate methods for cutting, shaping, and assembling parts.

Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props using hand tools, wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.

Ensure quality workmanship with the cutting, fitting, and installation of materials according to specific measurements, ensuring corners are crisp, joints are tight, and moldings are level.

Operate and maintain fork and scissor lifts safely.

Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; correct problems as needed.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills and Attributes

4-6 years of carpentry experience (rough, finish, trim) with an understanding of various building materials and finishes.

Experience in exhibit fabrication with attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.

Good mechanical and technical skills.

Ability to interpret and work from sketches, blueprints, or detailed drawings.

Able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers, team members, and management.

Strong planning and time-management skills.

Dependability and punctuality.

Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with assistance and perform tasks such as walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and other repetitive motions essential to the job.
