Audit Manager - Public
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Audit Manager in the Public sector. This position is based in Newport News, Virginia, and will involve local travel to client sites as needed. In this role, you will be working with businesses and government agencies, focusing on optimizing operations and ensuring compliance with the latest regulations.Responsibilities: Collaborate with companies and government agencies to research and solve problems, as well as develop policies and procedures that align with current legislation. Analyze, evaluate, and implement new control systems to optimize operations or incorporate new technologies. Record, review, and interpret data to assess the effectiveness of operations and research discrepancies, operational problems, or other issues. Examine records, reports, and receipts, comparing them to company assets and liabilities. Bring company strengths and weaknesses to the attention of the management and provide advice as they develop responses or fixes for these issues. Generate reports and present findings to management or other interested parties. Maintain awareness of current industry trends, technology, and developments. Handle additional duties and special projects to ensure the business is operating efficiently and in compliance with all current regulations. Utilize skills in Accounting Software Systems, Audit Program, CaseWare, CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Accounting Functions, Audit Engagements, Auditing, Audit Plans, and Budget Processes to perform job functions effectively.Interested candidates please contact Tamara Young 757-981-0974Requirements Possess a minimum of three years of experience in public auditing Proficient in Accounting Software Systems such as CaseWare, CCH ProSystem Fx, and CCH Sales Tax Demonstrated experience in Audit Program Solid understanding and experience of Accounting Functions Proven track record in managing Audit Engagements Strong skills in Auditing and creating Audit Plans Experience in Budget Processes Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High level of integrity and professionalism.
