Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Administrator in New Haven, Connecticut. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining a safe and organized work environment for our staff and clients. You will be part of an industry that values respect, cooperation, and adherence to high standards.Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining a secure environment for staff and clients Uphold the cleanliness and organization of the work environment Report maintenance and safety issues to the appropriate channels Participate in fire and emergency evacuation drills, and review emergency preparedness plans Adhere to policies and practices, including medication practices Maintain respectful, constructive, and cooperative relationships with staff and providers Comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations and secure necessary releases of information for outside communication Demonstrate culturally competent behavior when interacting with clients, professionals/providers, and staff Maintain accurate records and case files in accordance with program, contractual, licensing, and accreditation requirements Participate in agency committee work and complete all required training per program contract and agency policy Use Microsoft Office Suites for administrative tasks Provide administrative assistance, including answering inbound calls Adhere to occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) standards and participate in safety committee meetings Assist in employee training and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Requirements Possession of a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Medical Administrator role or similar. Proven experience in administrative assistance and managing administrative tasks. Demonstrated ability in answering inbound calls and handling customer queries. Experience in employee training and implementing safety standards. Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Experience serving on a Safety Committee and implementing safety policies and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Previous involvement in committee meetings and ability to coordinate and manage meeting logistics. Experience in implementing and maintaining policies and procedures in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with occupational safety practices and regulations in a healthcare environment.
