Responsible for plant accounting procedures related to operations (e.g. general ledger, accruals, journal entry preparation, daily cash application and inventory control including inventory reconciliations).
Prepares monthly financials timely and accurately and assist with month end board packet compilation. Heavy focus on month end general ledger reconciliations and financial close process.
Helps maintain adequate internal controls and monitors those areas which require expertise and financial planning (e.g. inventories, receivables, payroll, payables and cost). Recommends process improvements and helps guide the plant through change.
Ensures data is generated effectively and efficiently for a functional accounts payable and accounts receivable system.
Prepares monthly production reports, government reports and tax submissions and other management reports as required.
Provides management with monthly and yearly inventory control statements and reconciles book values to physical inventories.
Assists Commodities and Grains departments with corn procurement activities
Supports Plant Manager, EHS and Commodity Manager with any financial data as requested.
Assists in Year-end Financial Audits.
Performs other ad hoc projects as required.
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required.
Preferably 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Experience within the ethanol, agriculture, or commodities industries preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains accounting software preferred.
Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley concepts a plus.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook required.
Valid Drivers License required.
