As overall leader, the Executive Director (ED) has the day-to-day responsibility of managing the agency. The ED implements the policy directives emanating from the Board of Directors and assumes the overall leadership role in guiding all administrative, fiscal, program, communication and personnel activities as delineated by the standards adopted by the State of Washington and Camelot Society policies.
Be the guiding star, providing professional leadership and management.
Promote an agency culture that fosters passion for the mission, cooperation, open and frequent communication,
teamwork and a common organizational vision.
Establish sound working relationships and cooperative agreements with the State, as well as community groups
and organization.
Ensure that the Board of Directors is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and all-important
factors influencing it.
It is the Executive Director’s responsibility to plan and develop programs as funded by the funding agencies.
Ensure agency management and leadership is consistent with not only Camelot standards and practices, but
local, state and/or federal laws and regulations.
Develop, implement and oversee agency policies.
The Executive Director shall assist, advise and act for the Board of Directors in the following:
Be responsible for developing and maintaining sound financial practices.
Develop and maintain rigorous accountability standards for all agency financial practices and transactions.
Ensure that adequate funds are available to allow the agency to carry out its mission.
Work closely with all funding sources, including the State.
Conduct official fiscal business matters, including correspondence and executing legal documents with the
approval of the Board of Directors or through a Corporate/Board Resolution.
Direct financial activities and make decisions based on plans and policies developed in concert with the Board
of Directors.
The Executive Director is authorized to transact all personnel actions subject to the agency Personnel Manual and to report such actions, as necessary, to the Board.
Develop, implement and oversee appropriate human resource policies and ensure that sound human resource
practices are in place.
Be directly responsible for the supervision of the Associate Director, Program Administrators and other
personnel not under the direction of the Program Administrators.
Foster a climate that attracts, keeps and motivates a diverse staff.
Prepare for the anticipated growth of the agency, including hiring and firing, career development, succession
planning and performance management for all staff.
Keep the Board apprised of any higher-level actions/concerns, as necessary.
The Executive Director will oversee the following marketing efforts to ensure that Camelot is and remains relevant in our communities.
Elevate the agency’s visibility through creative marketing campaigns.
Implement strategies to boost board membership and public awareness.
Aid in the development of specific marketing efforts for highlighting Camelot’s Avalon Training Department
and associated trainings being offered.
The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the following standards are met:
Ensure a positive, growth-oriented, safe, and secure environment for our clients. Establish an environment that
ensures their health & safety and preserves human dignity.
Ensure compliance with Multi-Family Housing/HUD reporting, billing, and regulatory issues.
Provide counsel to leadership and ensure consistent documentation of programming.
Ensure and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Maintain official records
and documents of such.
Qualifications:
Proven executive leadership skills in senior management positions. Excellent organizational, interpersonal,
marketing, communication, administration, and personnel management skills.
Visionary, trustworthy, diplomatic, understanding and innovative, as well as positive.
Experience managing a complex budget.
Success in fund development, including community events and grant-writing.
Ability to foster a healthy organizational culture, to encourage teamwork and collaboration; strong
interpersonal skills that include the ability to inspire and motivate; effective at conflict management. An
affinity for working with a culturally diverse staff.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with persons with developmental disabilities. Awareness
of current trends in the field of developmental disabilities.
Ability to raise the organization’s visibility through successful marketing.
Strong analytical and computer skills.
Passion for the mission and values of the Camelot Society.
Strong understanding of nonprofit culture and experience with boards of directors and volunteers.
Experience working with and developing an effective Board of Directors.

Salary Range: $125,000-185,000
Benefits: Employees working 30 hours, or more (full-time) are covered by medical, dental and life insurance/Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D). This position will have unlimited PTO (per policy) as well as seven paid holidays a year. Additionally, all full-time employees are covered by the agency Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Employees are able to enroll in our agency’s 403b retirement plan, supplemental insurance, as well as a legal services program. Vision is also available to employees to enroll in. Dependents may be enrolled in health care plans at the cost of the employee.
All employees are eligible for discretionary bonuses throughout the year.
Wage scale encompasses starting wage through long term employment
