Hydro Blaster – Red Dog Mine, AK – Rotational
Job DescriptionThe Hydro-Blaster is to safely operate an ultra-high pressure shotgun and flex-lance to clean tanks, pipes, grating, sumps, and various mining equipment. Hydro-blasters will also operate and use industrial vacuum units to clean waste and debris.Responsibilities
Comply with all company and regulatory safety policies
Knowledge of ultra-high pressure waterjetting theories and safety
Knowledge and ability to operate ultra-high pressure waterjet tools and vacuum equipment
Safely prepares equipment and worksite daily
Assemble and disassemble hose connections
Physically control industrial waterjet and vacuum equipment
Ensures that assigned tasks are performed safely with the highest level of quality
Communicate with Front Line Supervisors on areas such as safety, quality, and integrity
Mechanical piping skills, including flange breaks and bolt-ups
Basic rigging and lifting techniques
Ensure that work results conform to client specifications and schedules
Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their supervisor
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum five (5) years Hydro-Blasting experience.
Experience operating hydro-blast equipment at pressures ≥ 15,000 PSI
A driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years are preferred to be eligible under the company vehicle insurance policy.
