NO 2 Auto Machine Mechanic

The company’s brand portfolio includes the leading brands Domino®, C&H®, Redpath®, Tate & Lyle®, Lyle’s® and Sidul®.OVERVIEW The No. 2 Auto Machine Mechanic is responsible for assisting the #1 AMM with maintenance on high speed packaging equipment in an industrial food facility, which consist with routine maintenance, infield adjustments and complete breakdowns of equipment. DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs, connects, maintains and repairs mechanical and closely allied equipment such as gears, levers and arms, cams, conveyor belts and other machine parts, using tools such as wrenches, hoists, grinding machine, drill motors, file, mechanical hand tools, etc.
Perform minor repairs to all type of packaging equipment from instruction books, sketches and other specifications.
Perform all jobs in accordance with established safety practices and sanitation standards.
Adjust automatic packaging equipment such as bag tray, bag clamps, scales and palletizers
Inspect package closures and makes necessary corrective adjustments as needed
Operate high speed packing equipment.
Proper performance of assigned duties, observance of safety standards, good housekeeping requirements for the proper care of tools, materials and equipment
Perform duties in a workmanlike manner
WORK EXPERIENCES
Must have at least two (2) or more years of maintenance/mechanical experience on packaging equipment OR two (2) or more years of related maintenance/mechanical experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Determines material & supplies needed
Must be familiar with principles of mechanics, construction and functioning of automatic machinery in accordance with applicable code
Must be able to use machine mechanic’s tools and shop equipment
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES
Ability to recognize, adjust and replace components in mechanical equipment.
Ability to perform repairs and tests on mechanical packaging equipment
Ability to:
Lift up to 50lbs
Use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and tools
Walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, and climb constantly throughout the shift
Reach, bend, twist, rotate, push and pull frequently
Work in confined spaces
Work independently as well as a team player
Climb up and down ladders
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
Must be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

Starting Rate: $27.60
