Custom High-End Residential Superintendent
Malibu, CA
We’re hiring an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to join our team building custom high-end residential projects in the Los Angeles area. We’re a full-service construction company who specializes in custom residential projects. Our on-staff team includes Project Managers, Superintendents, finish and rough carpenters, and laborers.
Responsibilities:
Our Site Superintendents are the on-site manager of the project. Responsibilities include:
Making sure all work is performed safely and in accordance with the plans and specifications
Work with Project Manager to develop and maintain overall project schedule
Work with Project Manager during pre-construction phase to develop project budget
Develop a detailed understanding of budgeted scope of work, including all changes throughout the project
Work with Project Manager to flesh out scope and pricing for upcoming work
Draft and update three-week lookahead schedules
Daily problem solving
Manage all subcontractor work, including scheduling, oversight, quality control, etc.
Manage and lead all field crew, including all in-house labor personnel
Quality control for subcontractors and in-house labor
Serve as the “feet on the ground” consisting of multiple daily walkthroughs of the jobsite to check on all work
Coordinate material deliveries, handling, storage and protection
Enforce safety protocols and lead weekly safety meetings
Opening and closing of jobsite; maintaining jobsite security (including workers, tools, and materials)
Requirements:
10 years superintendent experience; at least 5 years experience with high-end custom homes
Degree in Construction Management or related field or equivalent professional experience
Ability to problem solve on the fly
Ability to lead and manage others
Ability to deal with and navigate daily challenges and problems
Ability to work and stay calm under pressure and deal with a wide variety of personalities
Ability to walk jobsites with ease, and sit and stand for extended periods of time
Journeyman level carpentry skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
Technical knowledge and experience with construction means and methods
Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project
US work authorization
