Safety Coordinator for Electrical Contractor

About the Role: We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to join our team. Under the general direction of the Office Manager, the Safety Coordinator develops, implements, and collaborates on safety programs to minimize the risk of illness and injury in compliance with applicable regulations. This role will ensure that all employees receive mandated safety training and help minimize the risk of job-related accidents. Electrical experience/knowledge is required.

Type of Position: Entry Level, Full-Time
Compensation: $26 + DOE

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Clerical support related to safety training and new hire compliance safety orientation training. Creates and modifies safety orientation as changes are made to job procedures and equipment and continuously educates employees to adhere to compliance.
· Implement, update, and enforce policies and procedures as mandated by OSHA
· Plan, conduct, test, and record keep weekly safety meetings that are engaging and hands-on for all employees. (Fall Protection, Hazcom, Energized Electrical Work, Lock Out/ Tag Out)
· Ensure Compliance with all Federal, State, and local government requirements concerning employee safety in accordance with OSHA.
· Conduct on-site inspections of job sites and communicate/coordinate with customers to identify all safety requirements then create a safety plan, prepare employees with proper PPE for potential hazards.
· Preform toolbox talks with employees, incident reports in a timely manner, and Company fleet maintenance.
· Prepares and maintains documents and records including chemical inventories, facility maps, lockout tag out instructions, personal protective equipment lists/maintain inventory etc
· Maintain a system for updating and/or creating safety manuals.
· Coordinate and maintain records of permits and inspections of safety equipment and tools.
· Submit safety reports and insurance information.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Pick up product orders.
· Other duties assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required
. Electrical experience/knowledge
· Valid California driver’s license and clean DMV record
.Frequent travel in company vehicle.
· Computer Skills
. Able to master multiple software to track, maintain, record data as well as create systems for training.
