Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety. This role requires a strong background in food preparation and service management, along with excellent leadership skills to oversee kitchen staff and maintain an efficient workflow.
Responsibilities
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to enhance their culinary skills and performance.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed while minimizing waste.
Coordinate catering services for events, including banquets and special occasions, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Monitor food quality during service periods, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining or high-volume restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of food service management principles and practices.
Experience in shift management, with the ability to lead a team effectively during busy service periods.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and techniques for efficient stock control.
Excellent culinary skills with a focus on food preparation techniques across various cuisines.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food service operations.
