Our more than 6,000 employees are proud to work at our state-of-the-art sawmills and other facilities, including: manufacturing, custom wood-framed windows, fabrication, millwork, veneer, cogeneration, trucking, forestry, and other operations.

Currently, are seeking a qualified Mechanic Helper to work collaboratively with our sawmill in Eugene, Oregon.

About the Position

Help perform preventative and routine maintenance on both diesel, gas and propane forklifts, loaders, and other various equipment

Recognize, troubleshoot, and assist in repairing mechanical defects

Assist in performing repairs to include wiring repairs, tire repair, brake jobs, and general service

Perform some welding and fabrication, painting and assist mechanic as needed

Conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records

Perform duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations

Occasional heavy lifting and working in both hot and cold environments

Work will be day shift, but may include some various shift work when needed, including overtime, weekend, and holidays

Qualifications

Working knowledge of both gasoline and diesel engines, equipment hydraulics, and electrical systems preferred

Preference given to applicants with fabrication and metal work experience

Proven prior experience working on various machines including the above-mentioned equipment

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
