Position Title: Line CookReports to:Owner / Head ChefLocation: [Zoftig Eatery 57 Montgomery Dr. Santa Rosa CA ]Job Type: Full-Time Position Summary: As a Line Cook atZoftig Eatery you'll be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will work on the line to execute food orders with speed and accuracy while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and food quality. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, thrives under pressure, and works well in a collaborative kitchen atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook food items according to menu specifications and recipes. Ensure that all dishes are plated and presented according to restaurant standards. Maintain portion control and minimize food waste. Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, stoves, ovens, and slicers. Line Operations: Set up and break down the station for each shift, ensuring all items are stocked and equipment is clean and functioning. Cook food items quickly and efficiently during peak service hours. Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery to the front of house. Quality Control & Safety: Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness. Maintain a clean, organized workspace throughout the shift. Monitor and maintain food temperatures to ensure they are safe for service. Inventory & Stocking: Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing deliveries. Ensure that all ingredients and supplies are available and stocked for service. Report any equipment malfunctions or shortages to the kitchen manager. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, front-of-house team, and management to ensure smooth service. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve skills and efficiency. Provide feedback to improve menu items, processes, or kitchen operations. Requirements: Experience: Prior experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a kitchen environment preferred, but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, handling multiple orders at once. Skills: Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow recipes and adhere to portion control standards. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a hot, fast-paced environment. Other: Must have a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Food handler’s certification (or ability to obtain one) may be required based on local regulations.
