Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Requirements:
Must have knowledge and experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, heavy equipment, and fabrication
CDL – preferred but not required
Clean Driving Record
Must be a self-starter
Must be able to multi-task
Ability to work under limited supervision
Ability to prioritize tasks and complete in timely manner
The desired employee will take pride and ownership of what needs to be done, their work and keeping the shop clean and organized as if it was your own
Duties:
Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services. Perform inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on fleet trucks, company trucks and all equipment.
Ability to keep an up to date log book and track all maintenance dates, due dates and services.
Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment.
Raise trucks and heavy parts, or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
Recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears, and valves.
Troubleshoot operation problems and determine plan of action to remedy problems.
Install equipment, etc. to meet specifications.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
