Machine Operator
Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionCandidates will be fabricating parts for structural fabrication. They will be reading blueprints, assembling steel parts, and using a tape measure.Responsibilities
Operate machinery for fabricating parts for structural fabrication.
Read and interpret blueprints to assemble steel parts.
Utilize tape measures and other tools for accurate assembly.
Perform saw operation and steel fabrication tasks.
Engage in welding, steel manufacturing, and general labor.
Conduct mechanical assembly and use power tools as required.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 6 months of experience working as a welder for a steel fabricator or manufacturer.
OR a one-year degree or certificate in welding technology from a qualified trade school or college.
Proficiency in machine operation, saw operation, and steel fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in steel assembly and welding.
Familiarity with steel manufacturing processes.
General labor and mechanical assembly skills.
Comfortable using power tools.

The temperature can be significantly hotter in the summer. Large overhead cranes are used to move steel beams. The environment is open and spacious, with no work station boundaries, and constant movement of people and forklifts. The dress code includes a t-shirt, jeans, and metatarsal boots. Permanent employees receive annual boot vouchers. The role operates on 4 ten-hour shifts, with an optional fifth day for overtime. Shifts are Monday to Thursday or Thursday to Sunday, with two shift options: 5 AM-3:30 PM or 3:30 PM-1:45 AM. A 7% shift differential is offered for the second shift. Workers must be on their feet for the entire shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break, all paid.
