Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team in New York, New York. This role is in the finance industry and is a short term contract employment opportunity. As a Controller, you will be expected to utilize your skills in Bank Reconciliations and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation to manage financial activities and ensure the accuracy of our financial records.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all financial transactions and reports Conduct Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data Execute Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records Review financial discrepancies and recommend appropriate solutions Collaborate with the finance team to set budgets, financial plans, and forecasts Implement financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency Monitor the budget and ensure that the company operates within set financial limits Prepare financial reports for stakeholders on a regular basis Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Advise management on financial decisions and risk assessment. Requirements Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the financial sector. Proficient in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software. Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be advantageous. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to supervise a team.
