PFT Respiratory Therapist, FT

As PFT Respiratory Therapist, this position will perform diagnostic testing such as full Pulmonary Function Tests, VO2 MAX, and Spirometry testing.Responsible for setting up, maintenance and operations of the PFT system. Must exhibit competency in the performance of routine patient assessment and in the ability to correctly recognize and interpret respiratory dysfunction. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders, and Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.Requires: Licenses: Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of NMMust have current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) upon hireRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
