Wire Draw Machine Operator

Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionWe are currently hiring for 9 machine operators across 2nd and 3rd shifts to support our expansion. The role involves operating machinery to trim and coat wire, ensuring it meets customer specifications. This position requires a strong tenure in machine operation.Responsibilities

Operate digital controlled machinery and auxiliary equipment to produce quality products meeting customer expectations and production goals.

Load raw material, feed wire correctly through the machine, and remove finished product.

Change machinery over from one product or package to another and perform quality welds using the appropriate butt welder.

Conduct preventative maintenance on all production and support equipment as assigned.

Maintain accurate production and quality records.

Understand product quality, delivery, and scrap measurements.

Operate machinery safely, adhering to all safety procedures and policies, and wearing all assigned PPE.

Keep the work area clean and organized for the next operator.

Take and pass OSHA-approved Forklift Training; operating a forklift is essential to daily tasks.

Adjust equipment for optimal operation with guidance from management and the production supervisor.

Work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities.

Participate in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate.

Essential Skills

Mechanical aptitude.

At least two years of experience working in an industrial facility with machine or production experience.

Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.

Troubleshooting skills using standard problem-solving methods.

Capability to push, pull, roll items, and lift 70 pounds regularly.

Ability to perform all essential work-related physical demands.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Technical school education is a plus.

Willingness to learn to read tape measures, micrometers, and calipers, and to use the metric measurement system.

Ability to perform simple calculations in your head and use a calculator for more complex mathematics.

Experience with machine set-up, welding, and safety protocols (lock out-tag out) are beneficial.
