Engineering Lab Technician
Maxxima is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Lab Technician to join our dynamic engineering department. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the assembly and testing of various projects. You’ll assemble intermittent small batch projects, conduct lab tests, solder, and maintain lab organization. To be successful in this role you must have excellent technical acumen, practical skills in handling and assembling diverse lighting products and electrical components, and a commitment to the highest standards of workmanship.

Responsibilities:
- Assemble various components and systems, such as adding connectors to wires and assembling displays, ensuring all parts fit correctly and function as intended.
- Conduct thorough testing of lights using an integrating sphere and other lab equipment’s, accurately recording and documenting data to ensure products meet required standards.
- Perform product rework that may involve soldering tasks.
- Maintain the lab's organization by efficiently organizing bins, drawers, and other storage solutions, ensuring tools and components are easily accessible and cataloged.
- Test products according to engineers' specifications, using a range of tools and lab equipment to assess performance and identify any issues.
- Other technician tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2+ year’s experience in engineering or production environment
- Associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Demonstrated experience in a technical role involving assembly, testing, soldering, or maintenance ina lab environment
- Ability to perform precise and detailed work, ensuring high levels of accuracy and quality in assembly and testing processes
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of maintaining a clean and efficient work environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to document test results and report issues clearly and concisely
- Ability to work collaboratively within the engineering team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive work environment
- Familiarity with electronic schematics and mechanical drawings is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
- IPC J-STD-001 Certification is a plus
The base annual salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000.
