Position Overview
The Beverage Manager oversees all beverage operations across four locations, ensuring consistent quality, profitability, and exceptional service standards. This role requires a strategic approach to inventory management, staff development, and program innovation while maintaining cost controls and maximizing revenue.
Primary Responsibilities
Inventory & Cost Management
- Implement and maintain comprehensive inventory control systems across all locations
- Develop and manage beverage budgets, monitoring spending against targets
- Oversee receiving procedures and maintain accurate product accounting
- Analyze and optimize beverage COGS (Cost of Goods Sold)
- Track and minimize product waste through effective management strategies
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and maintain detailed records
Menu Development & Quality Control
- Create innovative beverage menus that align with location concepts and profit goals
- Establish and maintain drink specifications and pricing strategies
- Conduct regular quality audits of beverage service and preparation
- Ensure consistency of drink programs across all locations
- Monitor industry trends and integrate relevant innovations into beverage programs
Staff Management & Training
- Develop and implement comprehensive bartender training programs
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of bar staff
- Ensure compliance with serving standards and responsible alcohol service
- Mentor and coach bartenders to improve skills and knowledge
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for bar operations
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
- Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing
- Coordinate with location managers to align beverage programs with overall objectives
- Generate and analyze beverage sales reports
- Address and resolve service or quality issues promptly
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of beverage management experience
- Proven track record in inventory control and cost management
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management software (Bev Spot Experience a plus)
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
