Position at Women's Community Correctional Center

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Adult Services, provides clinical supervision to

all program staff and monitor day-to-day clinical operations and ensure effective caseload

representation. Protects confidentiality of clients and client records in accordance with

all applicable federal regulations. Responsible for time and accurate documentation of

clinical treatment activities.

I. Essential Functions

Program Development/Coordination

1. Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment among staff and

consumer oriented philosophy.

2. Monitors and evaluates counselor’s adherence to Hina Mauka’s code of ethics.

3. Monitors and evaluates counselor’s adherence to Hina Mauka’s core values.

4. Monitors and develops positive working relationship with all referral sources.

5. Is responsible for directly supervising the everyday procedure and efficiency of

the counselors providing treatment to clients.

6. Maintain new program changes as directed by manager or director.

7. Reports to Director of Adult Services on the status of the program, adherence to

code of ethics, needs and public relations efforts.

8. In collaboration with Director of Adult Services, works with Administration in

coordination of the billing of client services and other financial matters.

9. Coordinates treatment staffing and treatment team meetings.

10. Assist with staff performance to include and not limited to; inadequate

documentation, poor presentation, staff splitting, undermining program operation,

misuse of work time, influencing poor morale and other performance related issues

Contract Management

1. Under the direction of the Manager of Adult Services and Director of

Administration, assist in the preparation for accreditation, contract audits and

evaluations.

2. Assist with reviewing all open and closed charts (electronic and physical) in a

timely manner to ensure accurate and timely documentation.

3. Assist with training staff as mandated by our accreditation and contract agencies.

Counselor Supervision and Motivation

1. Motivate and empower staff in a positive manner; develops teamwork by

embracing and practicing the policies and procedures of the agency.

2. Document timely supervision using agency approved formats and processes

Staff Development

1. Trains new counselors and monitoring their adherence to contract requirements

and Hina Mauka’s code of ethics and values.

2. Assists in the development and coordination of training needs for the residential

and outpatient counselors.

3. Communicates updated and new guidelines and regulations to staff.

II. Other Functions

1. Performs other related duties as assigned.

III. Qualification Requirements

1. Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and Advance Degree in

Social work, Psychology or Behavioral Science preferred.

Experience and Training:

1. Two (2) years professional experience as a Substance Abuse Counselor

2. Experience working with the offender and mental health population and work

able to relate to clients with substance abuse disorders, including dually diagnosed

3. Eligible for certification in CPR and First Aid.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Familiar with and utilizing motivational and empowering techniques with staff

and clients. Familiar with Contingency Management/Positive Reinforcement

techniques. A good understanding of client-centered and cognitive behavioral

therapy.

2. Ability to represent Hina Mauka professionally with all referral sources,

networking with community agencies, and other professionals. Good

communication skills.

3. Well organized and able to maintain accurate and concise records.

4. Able to work as a team member within Hina Mauka’s philosophy.

5. Familiar and efficient in Microsoft and other electronic platforms

IV. Physical/Mental Demands

Light physical effort; mostly sedentary work; occasional standing/walking;

occasionally lifts supplies/equipment. May be exposed to infectious and contagious

disease. May perform emergency care.

Protective Equipment: Use of non-sterile medical gloves.
